'Please get in bed'

Temre's nighttime routine was incredibly gonked up following Krang's birth. This meant having to extend her journaling period, as she fed the baby while she did that. Eventually it came to include extracting crop from over her burned scar. The healed tissue is tougher than what was not afflicted, so it's harder for a baby to get it out - at least a tiny one. Storing it pretty much just relieved discomfort, prevented bruising (which is basically their version of mastitis), and ensured that Krang could be fed if she wasn't able to do it herself. Which didn't happen until after the attack that led to her death.

On Quanin's end of all this, it meant having to wait a little longer for her to be done so they could go to sleep. And even then they had to wake up for Krang through the night every so often. It was difficult enough waiting for her to get into bed before she was even pregnant. Her rituals were just a little high strung for him, but he tolerated them. She was very ritualistic. Always had to make multiple journal logs.
